Okay, So I'm a little late with starting this for the month of September. My hope is to post all the shows I'm promoting (and then some)
Orchard Lounge @ Canal Club 9/17/11 - "Downtempo, space disco, house, tech, b-boy era electro, hip hop, soul, and funk รข€“ if you can move, Orchard Lounge will back you up."(Orchardlounge.com/aboutus.html) Orchard Lounge will keep you groovin' all night. These guys bring a kind of show that you can't help but feel the energy from the stage, the crowd, and everywhere in the room.
SOJA (Soldiers of Jah's Army) @ Jefferson Theater 9/17/11 - SOLD OUT! Soja returns to the Jeff to another sold out crowd. These guys are giving the reggae world a run from their money. And also are world change conscious. From their fb page "There is no doubt about it. This band is on the forefront of a Revolution with hopes to bring about positive change: environmentally, politically and socially"
Widespread Panic @ The National 9/19-9/21/11 - Panic's 25th anniversary tour is opening to sold out crowds all over the map. They've been a huge part of the jam scene for years now, and these are not shows to miss!!
Pretty Lights w/ Big Gigantic @ Charlottesville Ntelos Pavillion 9/21/11- Pretty Lights stole All Good late late night this year. With innovative lighting, new mixes coming out continually, and a huge stage presence, PL keeps the crowd GOING. Big Gigantic has been blowing up over the last few years. Dominic's Saxophone has such a powerful sound, they are unmistakable and a great time.
Orchard Lounge (PL And Big G after party) @ Main Street Arena 9/21/11 - (See above review)
Umphrey's McGee @ Jefferson Theater - 9/23/11 - Umphrey's brings it. Period. Playing to the crowd, they switch up their sound to accomodate the crowd. With such a versatile style, it's hard to see the same show twice. Their New Album "Death By Stereo" dropped 9/13
Spaghetti Fest 9 @ Stoney Creek Camp Resort - 9/23-9/25/11- Hosted By Midnight Spaghetti and Chocolate G Strings, this home grown independant music festival will be a weekend to remember. The host camp ground is a perfect setting for a relaxed weekend of taking in lots of great local and not so local bands. Calf Mountain Jam, The Sour Deemsters, and Pelicanesis are just a few names that'll have to dancing, all with their own unique sound. Whether you're into blue grass or funk, you'll have a great time at this charity event.
Kings Of Belmont @ Afton Mountain Vineyars - 9/24/11 - The Kings of Belmont have a very wide range of sound. From their spacey, jam originals to their absolutely flawless covers (Yes, 2001 was awesome at Floyd Fest!). If you haven't heard them, you need to check them out for sure.
Primus @ The National - 9/26/11 - Les Claypool is a God of music. If you missed Primus at All Good, you missed out! They also had a new album come out 9/13, which is phenominal GO GET IT!! This is a show not to be missed.
Dr Fameus @ Canal Club - 9/30/11 - Allen Aucion from the Disco Biscuit's electronic side project is a high energy, dance driven great time! His return to Canal Club will be a huge dance party for biscuits fans and new comers alike!
If you'd like posters from Widespread Panic, STS9, Papadosio, Eoto, Perpetual Groove Fall Tours please let me know. I have a few extra of each I can share with some lucky fan!
